3. Before attaching the mixing tip, squeeze a small amount into a plastic bag to ensure correct dispensing. |
4. Use only Bovi-Bond mixing tips. Attach the mixing tip to the adhesive cartridge by pressing and twisting clockwise. |
5. When the application is finished, remove the mixing tip immediately and discard. Close the tip of the adhesive with the cap provided with the kit. |

Preparing the Hoof:
|
1. Make the hoof as smooth as possible using trimmer, rasp or grinder. |
2. Dry the hoof with a heat gun. |
3. Dispense Bovi-Bond adhesive onto the block in a strip about 2 cm wide, according to the shape of the claw. |
4. Press the block onto the clean and dry hoof and hold for 20 seconds. Do not express all the adhesive from between the block and the hoof – leave 2-3 mm of material between them. |
Note: Never cover damp, bleeding or infected surfaces or areas with Bovi-Bond. Only apply Bovi-Bond after recovery from infection or injury. The best results are obtained in ambient temperatures of 18-30°C. If using rubber blocks, disinfect the blocks with alcohol and dry thoroughly before application. |
Cold Weather Suggestions: |
1. Keep the adhesive cartridge blocks at an appropriate temperature. To work in the cold for a prolonged period, keep the adhesive and caps in an insulated ‘cooler’ with microwave heat pads or sealed hot water containers to maintain a temperature adequate to keep the adhesive fluid. |
2. Warm the blocks with a heat gun for 10 seconds. |
3. Keep the hoof off the ground for an additional minute. |
4. Apply heat after bonding for 10-15 seconds. |

Information on Bovi-Bond Set:
A basic principle of cattle breeding is to provide the bovines with the comfort they need to live healthy and fertile lives. Because they are painful and hinder an animal’s basic functions (such as walking, eating, drinking, and rutting), hoof disorders decrease fertility and increase secondary health disorders through a weakening of the animal’s immune system. Research has shown that hoof disorders cut fertility rates by 35%. Lesions on the sole (like sole bruises) make it painful for the animal to stand and cause it to transfer its weight to other hooves. If recovery is slow, abnormalities and splitting begins to occur on a healthy hoof. Chronic hoof problems decrease stud value, while treatment for hoof disorders is difficult and time consuming. During treatment, additional steps are required to ensure the animal’s basic needs are met and a decrease in fertility and the creation of secondary health disorders are avoided. The BOVÝ-BOND hoof care set was developed to meet this challenge. Its outstanding features include ease of application (due to its special dispenser) and quick setting and hardening (15-20 seconds).
